Some rumors are around that Party Poker might switch to Playtech's IPoker Network...

Any comments?

I find the notion ridiculous.

More importantly, where is Doyle Brunson taking his network?

A buyout of Tribeca code or a move somewehe else...

Tribeca code is dead, as a condition of the sale to Playtech. It cannot be sold or licensed to anyone.

Why Party Gaming would give up their own software product, heavily invested in and proven to be of the most stable and scalable (they may never again reach their peak volume)? Makes no sense, stupid rumour.

More likely would be Party Gaming acquiring Playtech, but again, why?

This is news????

Noble Poker was the largest member of the iPoker network (may still be?) -- and was bought by Empire Poker in August 2005.

Empire Poker was a skin of Party Poker, but was forcibly seperated in October 2005. Empire Poker still ran Party Gaming's software, but it was no longer networked with Party Poker.

In February 2006 Party Poker acquired Empire Poker, and therefore also acquired Noble Poker. Empire again became networked with Party Poker, sharing the same ring games, single-table tournaments, and most multi-table tournaments.

Noble Poker still runs on the iPoker Network. The only thing indicated by the press release you quoted is that Noble Poker will continue running on the Playtech iPoker network and won't be moved to the Party Gaming network.

Note, Empire had also acquired Club Dice, one of PlayTech's first casino licensees, so Party Poker owns more than one property running some type of PlayTech software.

The rumour is obviously quite ignorant of such facts.
